Call for Papers - Texas WWI Symposium - October 10-11, 2014

The United States declared its neutrality in September 1914 as Europe and its colonies rushed into war with a resounding hurrah.  However, not all its citizens or recent immigrants agreed with that stance.  Many volunteered for service with the warring nations or joined humanitarian efforts to lessen the suffering of those in harm's way.

The Southwest Branch of the World War 1 Historical Association in conjunction with Tarleton University at Stephenville, Texas and the Dallas Forth Worth branch of the League of WWI Aviation Historians, will sponsor a symposium on 10 - 11 October 2014 in Stephenville which will look at how Americans engaged in the Great War before the U.S. entered it.

The symposium will have seven 45 minute openings for the presentation of papers about American volunteers.  Please submit your proposal to M.
